An Inspirational World Book Day

World Book Day is a very special day at Finton House every year.

The tangible buzz in the air is infectious and reflects the love and enthusiasm that the children and staff feel towards books and reading.  One of the highlights of the day is the chance the children (and staff!) have to come to school dressed as a character from a favourite book.

Visiting authors are invited in to lead assemblies and workshops throughout the day to enrich the children’s learning. The day ends with ‘Shared Reading’ when the older children share books with children from younger classes. It is a moment of beautiful connection and embodies the way in which books unite and inspire the children as they grow at Finton.
