Results & Next Schools

Most pupils leaving Finton House at 11 go on to a wide range of London day schools, and a few to boarding schools.  Finton House is dedicated to finding the right senior school for each individual child, and this is done in close consultation with parents. At age eleven pupils are individually prepared for specific entrance and scholarship requirements. There is an expectation that all pupils will remain at Finton House for the full seven-year journey from 4-11. The school does not undertake to provide preparation for entrance exams at 7+ or 8+.

A printed guide ‘Future Schools, A Guide for Parents’, provides information about the process of preparing for secondary transfer. Meetings are offered with the Head and senior staff, and in addition, we hold a biennial Future Schools Evening which gives parents the opportunity to meet representatives of a range of schools to which Finton House pupils regularly transfer.
