Finton House Awarded Music Mark Accredited Status

Miss Maria is delighted to announce that Finton House has been awarded Music Mark Accredited status!

 ‘I would teach children music, physics and philosophy, but most importantly music’ – Plato

Music Mark believes that over 2,000 years later Plato is still right, and their vision not only stresses that every child should have access to music education, but that it should be the best it can be. At Finton we strongly support Music Mark in their aim to encourage accessible and excellent musical learning and engagement in and out of school for all children and young people across the UK.

Music both inspires and enriches children’s lives.  Not only do our pupils delight in learning music here at Finton House for the pure pleasure of it but they benefit academically as research shows that learning music improves learning skills and boosts school attainment levels. What a fine way to augment children’s capacity for learning, their social development, team work, creative and critical engagement whilst having so much fun! Miss Maria remarked that, “This accolade has been given for the variety of music that we offer at Finton House. The array has never been stronger and our curriculum/extra curricular activities reflect this. We will also keep you posted on the Wandsworth borough projects, completions and concerts in which we are taking part over the coming year.”
