Football Season Kicks Off With Two Huge Finton Victories
Finton footballers have started the season with a bang as both our Year 5 and Year 6 teams emerged victorious from their respective tournaments at Epsom College this week.
Spectators at the Year 6 tournament were especially touched to see Old Fintonians (now at Epsom) watching from the sidelines. One parent said “Not one school there was supported by their old school friends like Finton House. It was heart-warming to see all the ex-Finton pupils run to the pitch (giving up their break and lunch times) to watch the games and sit/stand right behind their old school buddies as they queued up for their trophy.” Congratulations boys!
We had yet more sporting success on Thursday as our Year 5 mixed boys & girls football team travelled over to Epsom to play on Thursday. The team was undefeated on the day and crowned champions. Mr Anthony, Head of Games, said, “This team represented Finton with pride, and in turn we’re all very proud of them. Well done to everyone for a great result.”
