Fintonians Star in New Channel 5 Documentary

On Thursday 21 September, a group of Fintonians appeared on television in the new Channel 5 documentary, “Five-a-Day: The Big Con?”

This project was spearheaded by Old Fintonian Julia Whitehouse (’04), who is an Assistant Producer for Mentorn Media. During the Summer Term 2023, Julia and her colleague visited Finton House and filmed the segment with seven Year 4 pupils and Science Co-ordinator, Mr Joe Walton.

During the programme, Mr Joe teaches a lesson about healthy eating and the children discuss the different foods that count as your five-a-day. They are shocked by the hidden levels of sugar which are found in products marketed to us as ‘healthy choices’.
