At Finton House we believe that children learn better when they are confident and inspired. This belief informs our approach to education. Small class sizes, specialist teaching, cross curricular integration, workshops, trips and special events all contribute to the development of a love of learning.

Finton House provides a broad and balanced curriculum, extending beyond the National Curriculum. The timetable includes English, Maths, Science, Computing, PSHEE (Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education), Languages, Art, Design & Technology, Drama, Dance, Music, Reasoning, Religious Education, Games and Critical Thinking. Our aim is to develop key skills and an enthusiastic approach to learning that will remain with the children long after they have left us.

Finton House has a committed and well-qualified teaching staff made up of class teachers and subject specialists. A high staff to pupil ratio and small teaching groups mean children learn effectively and make rapid progress. The class teacher develops a close relationship with the children and is responsible for each child's pastoral care. There are strong home-school links, and frequent opportunities to discuss children's progress and welfare.
