An Exciting Few Weeks of Sport

19th October 22

It has been an exciting few weeks of sport here at Finton House, with our netball and football teams out in force.

Our Year 5 and Year 6 footballers enjoyed residential weekends away at the Prep4Sport Challenge Cups at Bisham Abbey and St. George’s Park respectively. The boys played some fantastic football and enjoyed their overnight stay – the excitement for which was matched only by the hydrotherapy pool!

Our netballers have also enjoyed an excellent start to the season, with the Year 5 girls winning their first fixture against Chepstow House and all three of our Year 6 teams winning their matches against Eaton House The Manor. Our Year 6 A team later came second out of twelve schools at a tournament hosted by Emanuel School.

You can read our sports updates as they happen over on our Twitter account!

Celebrating Finton’s Diversity on International Day

6th October 22

Last week we had the most wonderful time celebrating Finton’s diversity on International Day!

On Monday 26 September we celebrated how wonderfully diverse the #FintonFamily is. Pupils and staff were encouraged to dress in clothing connected with their heritage, and we had a day of amazing activities ranging from a European Dance Workshop to each year group researching a different continent with their classes. Our marvellous artists created some beautiful Japanese Nōtan art, then headed outside to try a range of games played in different countries. The highlight of the day, however, had to be the pop-up international food market which took place in the front garden; some of our wonderful parents made food from a range of countries around the world and each year group got to visit and sample the various delights on offer.

This event was the perfect way to get to know each other in a new light and learn more about our different heritages.
