Introduction
from the Head Girl

I've been at Finton House for a long time now and each morning I've come to school looking forward to the action-packed day ahead. When Imove on to mysenior school next year I will miss all the teachers and friends who have helped me over the years I have been at Finton House. |
On myfirst day here I felt a combination of nervousness and sheer excitement, but the teachers were so nice, and the older children always looked after us. That's the special thing about Finton: everyone is friends. It doesn't seem to matter how old you are, or if you are a boy or a girl - we even get on with our teachers most of the time! The prefects and monitors help look after the Lower School pupils and do jobs like organising house events, counting housepoints and doing duties as well.

Our days here are pretty packed. We meet in our classes for registration at 8.45, and twice a week we have assembly. The lessons are inspiring and you learn whilst having fun. There is a break mid-morning when we get a healthy snack and some fresh air. The day is arranged differently for different year groups so that the lower school (years Reception - Year 2) have more play time and an earlier lunch. We do Games or PE nearly every day, and there is swimming once a week. Our teams are pretty good - we beat most of the schools in the area this year, especially in swimming, and there are lots of chances to keep fit. |
|
You can do after school clubs like ICT, sports and Art and lots of others. There are day trips for all year groups, such as Kew Gardens, Hampton Court, the Science Museum and the Houses of Parliament, and lots of fun workshops in school. We also go on residential trips from Year 3 upwards to places like Wales, PGL and Devon. We are going to France next summer with the rest of Year 6, part of the special curriculum we follow after our exams have finished.

If you are a new pupil, I hope you enjoy life at Finton to the full, and make lots of friends here. I think Finton is the best school you can go to! |
